10 signs she likes you

1. She’s very touchy-feely with you

If you’re already getting to know each other, then you might see a girl naturally touch your hand, shoulder or chest. If you’ve just made a joke, she may playfully (and lightly) slap you.

Also, if you’re sitting next to each other, there’s a chance that your legs or shoulders naturally begin to touch just because of how close you’re sitting together. If this happens and she seems ok with it, then it’s a good sign.

Finally, women also sometimes touch you or bump into men “by accident” to get noticed in a crowded place like a bar or party.

2. The feet never lie.

In the book What Every Body Is Saying, an ex-FBI agent reveals the true meaning of what our feet are often saying. If a girl’s feet are facing toward you even though she’s looking away, this is a sign that she may be interested in you.

3. She smiles with her eyes.

Smiling might sound obvious, but in my experience (and in the scientific study I mentioned), men tend to convince themselves a woman is only smiling because she’s “just being friendly.”

One trick is to ask yourself: does this look like a real, genuine smile or like someone posing for a photo? The difference can be seen with the eyes. If the smile is genuine, she will “smile with her eyes,” meaning you’ll see a crease at the edge of her eyes ever-so-slightly.

4. She teases you

It may seem like a tactic straight from the elementary-school playground, but it’s not just kids who use playful teasing to demonstrate that they like someone. The theory goes that teasing is a low-risk way to escalate the intimacy of a conversation, as it allows two people to get into personal territory while still keeping things on the lighter side. So, take note: if a woman is ribbing you about your hockey team, or tickling you, chances are she likes you.

5. She draws attention to her neck and shoulders

EliteSingles recently spoke with dating and image therapist Kimberly Seltzer about body language attraction, and the non-verbal signals that people use to telegraph their interest. According to Seltzer, one of the signs a woman likes you is if she draws attention to delicate areas like her neck and shoulders. If she’s twirling her hair or fiddling with a necklace, it could be a way of (subconsciously) displaying the fact that she feels comfortable in your presence.

6. She’s making “long” eye contact.

People make eye contact for many different reasons, but if a woman is making eye contact with you, it’s best to play it safe and assume she likes you. The risk of letting her walk out of your life is too big to take.

If you’re engaged in a conversation, then the level of eye contact she keeps can show how interested she is. If she’s always looking around or at her phone, then it’s a sign she could be trying avoid a conversation with you.

 7. Is she polite to you

Polite flirting is, essentially, one party telling another party they’re interested in the other (in a direct, forward fashion).

Unfortunately, polite flirting isn’t the norm in the 21st century, so your friend might not come right out and say, “Hey. I like you.”

8. She's told her friends about you 

If, while the two of you are hanging out, she says something like, “I was telling my roommate the other day about how you had never seen Jurassic Park. She couldn’t believe it either!” then you can be pretty sure she’s interested in more than friendship.

9. She initiates physical touch when you’re in public

If a girl likes you, she’ll likely do something that breaks the intimate “touch barrier.” The most common way she’ll do it is through a sincere hug. A sincere hug is more than the standard “greeting” hug, and may even be closer to a bear hug.
This means she feels comfortable around you and has no problem breaking the “touch barrier.”

10. Conversations between the two of you seems effortless

Both your conversations and your time together seem effortless.
A two hour date suddenly turns into an eight hour date, and neither of you seem to notice where the time went.
