10 most anticipated movies of 2018

1) The Incredibles 2


The Incredibles ended on a slightly ominous note around fourteen years ago with the appearance of a new mole-like villain named The Underminer. The sequel, set for a summer release, will pick up from this point, following the titular family as they attempt to thwart The Underminer’s evil plans. At this summer’s D23 expo, director Brad Bird also confirmed that The Incredibles 2 would devote more of its focus to Elastigirl this time around.


2) Avengers: Infinity War


Few movies have seemed more destined to make a billion dollars than Avengers: Infinity War. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to deliver its most ambitious project: a film which unites every single protagonist introduced in its 17-picture run.


3) Solo: A Star Wars Story


Star Wars spinoff’s primary concern has been the firing of co-directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who were replaced by Ron Howard. Fans of this sci-fi serial can't wait to see Alden Ehrenreich’s embodiment of a young Han Solo in this stand-alone instalment.


4) X-Men: Dark Phoenix


2016’s X-Men Apocalypse, has not been received well. The next installment, Dark Phoenix, is a risky endeavor, largely because of its writer-director, Simon Kinberg. Though Kinberg has long been a producer on the franchise, he’s never directed a feature before. The ’90s-set story will adapt one of the most famous in the X-Men comics canon. This definitely comes under anticipated movies 2018.


5) Spider Man: Into the Spider-Verse


Miles Morales who was introduced in the pages of Marvel Comics in 2011 has become one of the most beloved characters in superhero category. He’s an Afro-Latino teenage boy living in New York City who assumes the Spider-Man mantle after the death of Peter Parker, and though he represented a breakthrough for representation of people of color in comics. He makes his movie debut in this CGI-animated flick set in a different world than last year’s live-action Spider-Man : Homecoming.


6) Ocean's 8


The Ocean’s 11 franchise which ran from 2001-07 has brought you Ocean’s 8 which is an all-star cast of leading ladies, and we are suspecting some great cameos too! The first Ocean’s 8 trailer did not do very well, but we can only hope with Gary Ross directing and writing, and Steven Soderbergh producing, this could be a fun crime adventure.

7) Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom


Jurassic World has set new records worldwide when it debuted, and for the sequel director J. A. Bayona (The Impossible, A Monster Calls) is planning a different kind of dinosaurs adventure four years after the first one. In this movie, Owen Grady and Claire Dearing find a reason to return to the island of Isla Nublar.

8) Tomb Raider

Assassin’s Creed and the second attempt at Hitman: Agent 47 were not very successful. So, what will make Alicia Vikander’s Lara Croft any different? The Tomb Raider video game franchise has seen new life since its gritty and realistic reboot from which the film draws its inspiration from.

9) Mary Poppins Returns


The woman who taught American children the meaning of the word “tuppence” is back, and this time played by Emily Blunt. It happens to be a sequel, not a remake which means that Blunt’s Poppins is visiting the grown-up versions of the children she nannied all those years ago.

10) Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald


Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is the second part of the series of films based on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, one of the companion books to J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. Grindelwald has escaped from MACUSA custody.
