This abandoned town in Rajasthan with a majestic fort is one of the
most haunted places in India. Bhangarh and its ruins are closed to
people from sunset to sunrise, reportedly the time with the highest
paranormal activity on the premises. According to one of the tales about
Bhangarh, a magician fell in love with the princess and planned to cast
a spell on her so she could fall for him as well. The princess came to
know about this and got the magician killed. Before dying he cursed the
town. Till date, the town is in ruins and is inhabitable for anyone. It
is believed that the roofs of the temples and houses in the town fall
down when built. Those who have dared to stay in for the night have
reported hearing footsteps, the screeching of a woman, and a constant
presence over them.

2.Delhi Cantt. Area, Delhi
One of the most beautiful spots of Delhi during the day, the Delhi
Cantt. area turns into a spine-chilling stretch as the sun goes down.
The road on the stretch has a notorious hitchhiker clad in white, waving
for passersby to stop their cars. It is believed that people who have
agreed to give her a ride, were never seen again. The drivers who didn’t
stop have witnessed the woman run parallel to their window, matching
the car’s speed until the end of the area.

3. Dumas Beach, Surat, Gujarat
The beach in Gujarat used to be a Hindu cremation ground. The cheery
morning spot has an eerie vibe at night and is known to be one of the
most haunted places
in India. From spooky shrieks to whispers, people have reportedly heard
hauntingly unforgettable sounds at the beach at night. So many bodies
were burnt on this beach that the sand has turned black due to the
ashes. In addition to that, the dogs near the beach bark throughout the
night sensing the paranormal. Everything about the Dumas beach makes it
the last place you would want to be at night.
4.Mukesh Mills, Mumbai
Built in 1870, this notorious mill is known to make people feel
uncomfortable. Shut down after a massive fire, the place is one of the
most negative spots of India. A shooting location for Bollywood, several
stars have claimed to feel suffocated in certain areas of the mill.
Some have sworn never return to the place and the few who do, wrap up
their work before sunset and leave. A female star was possessed in the
mills once and asked the crew members to leave the premises in a manly
voice.

5.Savoy Hotel, Mussoorie, India

The story of this haunted place in India started in 1911. A
spiritualist named Frances Garnett-Orme was poisoned in the hotel – an
unsolved mystery to date. The story finds a mention in Agatha Christie’s
The Mysterious Affair at Styles and Ruskin Bond’s In a Crystal Ball.
Witnesses have seen her ghost aimlessly roaming around the hotel in
addition to echoes of footsteps, spooky noises and other death stories
connected to the majestic hotel.
6.Ramoji Film City, Andhra Pradesh

One of the largest film studio complexes, Ramoji Film studio in India
is also home to various spirits that roam around the grounds of the
complex and the hotels in the area. Built on a battlefield, Ramoji is
said to be surrounded by the spirits of the dead soldiers that are still
active on the field. Odd marks on the mirrors, falling lights on the
crew, food being scattered around and girls’ clothes being torn off are
common occurrences in the studio.

Located in one of the most popular getaways of the country, Raj Kiran
Hotel near Mumbai might not be a five-star property, but it is on the
list of top haunted hotels in India. There are particular rooms and
areas where guests have witnessed various paranormal incidents. Guests
have faced their worst fears in the rooms when their bed sheets were
forcefully pulled down at night or they woke up to an unexplained blue
ray near the bed. The rooms now stay vacant and are inoperational.

Huge forts at night are scary anyway, but the Shaniwarwada fort in
Pune is a different story altogether. Specifically on the full moon
nights, people are tormented by a young boy’s screams asking for help in
the fort. As per the legend, the spirit is a young prince who was the
heir to the Peshwa throne and was brutally murdered in the fort. To
date, painful screams of “kaka mala Vacha” (Uncle save me) echo through
the fort at night and can be heard by people outside.
9.Grand Paradi Towers, Mumbai

One of the first high-rise buildings in Mumbai, the Grand Paradi
Towers are also known for the number of suicides that have taken place
here. There is also a flat in the building that remains shut as
residents believe it still has people that refuse to move beyond. Random
knocks on the door, sounds of footsteps in unexpected places, at
unexpected times and spine-chilling screams has led to constant
counselling sessions for people who are still living in the building.
10.Dow Hill, West Bengal

A small hill station near Darjeeling in West Bengal, Dow Hill,
Kurseong has its own share of spooky locations. Apart from the number of
accidents and murders that have taken place in this paranormal
location, the hill station is known for its haunted forest and a
century-old Victoria boys high school. Ghosts of various children have
been sighted in and near the school and the most common one is that of a
headless boy that roams around in the forest and follows people.
Constant shrieks, laughter and footsteps can be heard in the school,
even during vacations and at night when nobody’s around.
